Music for Hope - Introduction

“JDRF’s Hope for the Holidays” is a holiday CD produced by “Music For Hope” to help find the cure of Juvenile Diabetes. All profits from the CD go to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF.org). JDRF is the world’s leading charity helping children and adults with type 1 diabetes. It is meant to entertain while it educates people about this very misunderstood disease.

With type 1 there is nothing you do to get it and there is nothing you can do to get rid of it. It strikes suddenly, making you dependent on insulin injections for life. It also carries the constant threat of devastating complications. That’s why the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is focused on research to improve treatments and to find a cure. Artists such as Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Mike Love and the Beach Boys Band, Weezer, Collective Soul, David Coverdale of Whitesnake, Jon Anderson of Yes, Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli, Rain: a Tribute to the Beatles, Filmmaker Bryan Singer and over 100 other artists from around the globe donated their times and talents to this cause.

We are now in pre-production for an updated version of the CD and could use your help. We would love to add a Holiday song from you/your artist to this year’s release.

We also have a handful of short PSAs for the record or JDRF in general, that we would like to have read as well.

Last year we had an international release that was carried by E1 in the US and Voiceprint in Europe. Look at the “order CD” page to see a complete list of vendors. Best of all we had direct sales with many of the JDRF chapters that were extremely popular and fruitful for the cause.

The CD owes much of its success to Doug “Cosmo” Clifford from Creedence Clearwater Revival/Revisited. He got the CD spun on over 2000 radio stations. With enough lead-time this year, he may have secured a place for physical distribution with Walmart stores.

So we have to start earlier this year. Our new deadlines are:

  • May 10th: A commitment and song title to be put on a one sheet to submit to retailers.
  • July 1st: Actual song delivered for mastering.
